2012 Sports Seasons All Set To Go

The following in person registrations have been secured for the January 2012 LITG Co-Ed Sports Seasons. All registrations will be held at Sports Garden Cafe (Iroquois Park), in Whitby and will begin at 7pm.

LITG Co-Ed Sports seasons will be offered starting in January 2012:

Co-Ed Volleyball

Nights: Mondays
Dates: Jan 9 – Mar 26 (total of 12 weeks)
Times: 6pm – 10:15pm
Locations: Sir William Stephenson Public School, West Lynde Public School
Cost: $75 per player
Details: players will be placed on teams of 6-7 players maximum. Teams will play each week at one of the two locations for a total of 2 hours in length. Each week Sir William Stephenson School will play from 6pm – 8pm, while West Lynde school will play from 8:15 – 10:15pm. Games will be rotated so all teams will play equally in the two time slots. Teams can be assembled, but please remember the “fun first” idea. Stacked teams will be broken up and players moved if this rule is not followed. The idea is that we want to have a fun social night of exercise and winning is not the reason for being there. Competition is encouraged, but not the priority.
***pay as you go players will be allowed on an as needed basis and will be charged $10 per evening they attend.

Co-Ed Winter Masters Lacrosse

Nights: Wednesdays
Dates: Jan 4 – Mar 21 (total of 12 weeks)
Times: 9pm – 11pm (if numbers do not permit 8 teams games will only be 9pm)
Locations: Oshawa Field House (former Oshawa Civic Auditorium)
Cost: $175 per player (goalies $80)
Details: players will be placed on teams of 14 players maximum. Teams will play each week at 9pm or 10pm for a total of 1 hour in length. Games will be rotated so all teams will play equally in the two time slots. Teams will be put together, but new players will have the opportunity to play with a friend. Please remember the “fun first” idea. Stacked teams will be broken up and players moved if this rule is not followed. The idea is that we want to have a fun social night of exercise and winning is not the reason for being there. Competition is encouraged, but not the priority.

***pay as you go players are not allowed for lacrosse

Co-Ed Sports (various)
Nights: Fridays
Dates: Jan 6 – Mar 23 (total of 12 weeks)
Times: 6pm – 8pm
Locations: West Lynde Public School (Whitby)
Cost: $75 per player
Details: this is the first session of various sports and will be pickup. Players can choose to drop in and pay $10 for 2 hours of time, or pay up front and pay $75 for the entire 12 weeks. Priority will be given to those that pay up front to secure their spot. Players will be placed on teams of 6-7 players maximum each week and will play volleyball, basketball, floor hockey, dodgeball, all up to those in attendance. Please remember the “fun first” idea. Stacked teams will be broken up and players moved if this rule is not followed. The idea is that we want to have a fun social night of exercise and winning is not the reason for being there. Competition is encouraged, but not the priority.

Upcoming Floor Hockey Season

Floor Hockey is scheduled to start on Tuesday September 13th and will be as follows:

Format
Teams will play a 9 week schedule, with weeks 10-12 being the playoffs.  Regular season rankings will place the 1st place team against the 8th place team, 2nd vs. 7th, etc.  Weeks 11 and 12 schedule will be determined by who wins and their regular season placings.  

The Cost to play the 12 week season is $125 (which includes HST).  Although only 4 players and one goalie are on at a time, team entries of 8 players (or more) will be accepted at a cost of $800.  Backup players are encouraged and it will help everyone to split the team cost, so the more the merrier.
